Mango chutney






1 mango peeled, cored and finely chopped

1 pear, peeled, cored and finely chopped1 kiwi,  peeled, cored and diced

1 apple, peeled, cored and diced

1 onion, peeled and finely chopped

1 tbsp raisins

4 tbsp raspberry vinegar

3 tbsp brown sugar

1 clove garlic, peeled and finely chopped

1 cm fresh ginger,  peeled and finely chopped

1 tsp  grated nutmeg

1/4 fresh chili

1 clove

1 cinnamon stick

1/2 lemon





  1. Combine the apple, mango, chili, sugar, lemon juice, onion, raisins, vinegar, cinnamon and ginger in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat, and boil gently, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until fruit is tender and mixture is thickened, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add  nutmeg boil gently for 5 minutes.
  3. remove hot jars from boiling water (15 min) and ladle chutney into jars to within 1 cm of rim.
